Image formats

How are different formats used?


.mpeg4 or .mp4  is the most common type of video file format and is used in all kinds of videos. From web ads, social media videos to wedding videos.


.mp4 .mov Formats are preferred for Apple devices, so if you use need to use videos on iPhone or iPad, this would be it.


.wmv this is a high-quality format, suitable for videos played in the Windows operating system.


WEBM or HTML5 videos are embedded on your personal or business website.

Image formats

How are different formats used?


JPEG or JPG is the most commonly used image formats out there. Some Photographs and images are used in emails, social media, web banners, or digital ads.


GIF is a widely used image format for animated graphics, from ads and memes to any content type.


If you are looking for the transparent background of your image or higher color depths. PNG is your format.


TIFF files have large sizes, and common in photography or desktop publishing, not recommended for web-specific digital designs.


PSD is a proprietary layered image format of Adobe Photoshop. If you or your client want to make changes to designs, it would be good to ask for this format along with others.


Vector images are images that can be shrunk or enlarged, but you won’t lose any detail.

Individual vector-based design elements can be provided in EPS.

Ask for AI, when you need to further work on illustrations using the software.

SVG files are required by web developers. Hence, mostly suitable for web-based projects.
